Reserve-backed instrument

A token or register entry redeemable against a specific physical or financial position held elsewhere, where the custody boundary and the reconciliation model are effectively one design decision rather than two separate ones.

Common causes

Treating the token’s issuance logic and the reserve’s custody arrangement as separate workstreams that reconcile later, instead of one design settled together.
