Enterprise integration boundary
The line an enterprise draws around what an external coordination system — an agent mesh, a partner platform — may read from and write to inside its own estate. Where this line is not drawn explicitly before integration, it gets drawn implicitly by whichever system turns out to have the widest default permissions.
Common causes
Granting broad access during a proof of concept "to move quickly," then never narrowing it once the integration reaches production.
What good looks like
A written list of systems in scope, a read/write distinction per system, and a review before the boundary widens.
