Signing boundary

The line in a system between components that may propose an action and the single component that may commit it by producing a signature. Everything an auditor understands about a system’s controls is a statement about where this line sits.

Common causes

Boundaries blur when a convenience path is added under delivery pressure — a service given a key "temporarily", a script with production credentials.

What good looks like

One enforcement point, a policy version attached to every signature, and an append-only record of what was approved by whom.

Term set: the build vocabulary. Capital-markets terms are defined on gda.group; agent-economy terms on flashygroup.com. One term, one home.
