Machine door
A discovery document served at a well-known path that lets an agent learn who is accountable for an organisation, which actions it may take, where each lives, what it costs and how to pay — without a human reading the website. It matters because it is the lowest-cost way onto the agentic internet: an organisation joins by publishing one file, long before it rebuilds anything.
Common causes
Capabilities named as departments rather than verbs; endpoints pointing off the organisation’s own domain; a price as a float or with no currency — each refused by the gateway checker rather than served.
